Cotton Facial Scrubbies

The local hardware store is conveniently located next to the grocery store, so after grabbing some pantry supplies, I step into the hardware store to find some inspiration.  I found the 'yarn' used for these facial scrubbies in the "Fasteners" isle:  Parcel Post Twine.

SL - slip stitch
SC - single crochet
flSC - front loop single crochet
DC - double crochet

Parcel Post Twine
Hook -- 1/2.27mm

Foundation Ring:  Magic Ring 10 SC, SL closed
Round 1:  make 9 "petals" -- (CH5, SL in next SC) X 9
Round 2:  SL in first and second CH of first petal,
work in the gap of the petal for next stitches:  SL and CH2 (counts as DC), DC2, CH1
*work in the gap of the next petal: DC3, CH1
repeat * for the remaining 7 petals, SL closed in second CH of first DC
Fasten off, and weave in the ends

Make 7 scrubbies -- one for each day of the week!
Plastic Grocery Bag
Hook -- K/6.50mm

Cut the grocery bag into strips of 1-2 inches (no need to be precise).  Tie the strips together (double knot) to make one long strand to work with.  Though the ends of the double knot will "butterfly," do your best to work them into the basket.

Working in the round:
Foundation Ring: Magic Ring 5 SC
2flSC in each of the 5 SC
2flSC in each of the 10 SC
*1flSC in each of the 20 SC
Repeat * until you run out of material, fasten off and weave in ends.  Snip any of the ends made from tying the strips together.
