This project comes from guest crafter, Jeannine Daniel. She's a fellow member of the Hypertufa Fan Club on Facebook. Jeannine created these heart planters from hypertufa and planted succulents in them. She calls these "Wedding bouquets transformed into forever lasting arrangements for the bride and maid of honor. Hopefully, everlasting!" Isn't it wonderful when you can truly say you made these gifts from scratch?
All photos in this post courtesy of Jeannine Daniel. The following is a brief summary in Jeannine's own words.
I found these heart shape containers at Hobby Lobby yesterday for $2.99 each for the large ones. They are about 5" deep and the hypertufa slid right out very easily - with just some Pam on the inside.
I used white Portland cement, peat, and perlite with a dash of buff color liquid cement coloring. A little scrubbing with the wire brushes and done!
Now to cure for a few weeks, then succulents in time for Valentine's Day!
